HandsOnFix — DIY small engine repair

Terms of service

Effective July 22, 2026

1. Agreement

By using HandsOnFix (the “Service” at https://www.handsonfix.com), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

2. What HandsOnFix is

HandsOnFix provides source-verified diagnostic information and repair guidance only for exact model-and-symptom records in its reviewed catalog. It is an informational and diagnostic aid — not professional repair, mechanical, or safety advice, and not a substitute for a qualified technician or the manufacturer's service manual.

3. DIY safety & assumption of risk

Working on power equipment carries real risk of injury and property damage. You are responsible for working safely: disconnect the spark plug boot (or remove the battery / safety key on electric equipment) before servicing, follow your equipment's manual, use proper tools and protective gear, and never work on running equipment.

You perform any repair at your own risk. If a job is beyond your comfort or ability — or we flag it as beyond typical DIY — stop and consult a professional. To the extent permitted by law, HandsOnFix is not liable for injury, damage, or loss resulting from repairs you attempt.

4. Accuracy & “as is”

A diagnosis is reached by tests you carry out and results you report. It depends on those observations being accurate, and we can't guarantee it will identify your exact problem or that a repair will succeed.

Part numbers carry an explicit confidence level. Verified means a manufacturer or authorised-dealer source backs that number for your engine, and we show you that source. Likely means something is still unconfirmed — usually your serial number. Unverified means we have not checked it for your machine, and we will not name a number. Whatever the level, compare a new part against the one you remove before fitting it. Professional repair estimates are illustrative ranges built from typical labour times, not quotes.

The Service is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law.

5. Accounts

If you create an account, keep your login credentials secure and don't share them. You're responsible for activity under your account. Tell us at support@handsonfix.com if you suspect unauthorized use.

6. Payments, subscriptions & refunds

The guided diagnosis and the full repair report are currently free, and new paid enrollment is paused. We will not charge for anything without showing the price first.

When paid plans reopen, they will be billed securely through Stripe and we will never see or store your full card details. A subscription renews until cancelled — you can cancel anytime and keep access through the period you have already paid for. Existing and past purchases, and refunds on them, are handled under our Refund Policy.

7. Affiliate links

Some part links are Amazon affiliate links. As an Amazon Associate we may earn from qualifying purchases, at no extra cost to you. Purchases from Amazon or any other retailer are governed by that retailer's terms and return policy, not ours.

8. Acceptable use

Please don't misuse the Service — no scraping or bulk-harvesting our content, reselling or redistributing guides, reverse-engineering the Service, or using it unlawfully. We may suspend accounts that abuse the Service.

9. Content

The diagnoses, guides, text, and design on HandsOnFix are our intellectual property and are provided for your personal repair use only. Your own inputs (your mower details and symptoms) remain yours; see our Privacy Policy for how we handle them.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, HandsOnFix and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

11. Changes & contact

We may update these terms; if we make material changes we'll update the effective date above. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms. Questions: support@handsonfix.com.
